2021 Property Tax Levy & Due Date

DeWitt Charter Township’s summer tax statements will be levied and mailed by July 1. If a bill is not received by July 15, please call the Treasurer’s Office for a copy.  Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the responsibility for payment, nor constitute cause for cancellation of penalty and interest if the tax becomes delinquent. When the property tax payment is handled by an escrow company, property owners will not receive a bill directly; however, all property owners can obtain tax bill copies and property data online at

Payments for taxes can be paid at, or mailed to the Treasurer’s Office at 1401 W. Herbison Road, DeWitt, MI 48820. A drop box is available in front of the Township Hall for residents’ use. Credit card and e-check payments are accepted online at A 3% convenience fee applies to all online and electronic payments.

All taxes, both real and personal property, are due Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Payments must be received in the Treasurer’s Office by the due date to be considered on-time. Payments made online and into the drop box on the due date, are considered on-time. The Township does not honor postmark dates as paid on-time. Unpaid and delinquent real property taxes are turned over to the County Treasurer on March 1, 2022.
