[ARCHIVED] 2022 Winter Property Taxes

Brick home

Winter real and personal property tax bills are levied and sent to property owners on December 1, 2022.  If you do not receive your bill by December 15, please contact the Treasurer’s Office to request a copy and verify your mailing address. If your taxes are held in escrow, the bill is sent directly to your mortgage servicing provider and you will not receive a bill. Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the responsibility for payment, nor constitutes cause for cancellation of penalty or interest if the tax becomes delinquent. Property owners can view and pay current tax bills at www.dewitttownship.org.

Winter taxes are payable from December 1, 2022 through February 14, 2023. Payment must be received by the Treasurer’s Office by February 14, 2023. The Township does not honor postmarks as paid on time.

Payments for property taxes can be mailed or delivered to the Township Hall at 1401 W. Herbison Road, DeWitt, MI 48820. A drop box is available in front of the Township Hall for residents’ convenience and after-hours use.  Payments delivered to the drop box or made at dewitttownship.org after hours on February 14, 2023, are considered on time.  The very last day to collect property tax payments in the Treasurer’s Office is Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Unpaid and delinquent real property taxes are turned over to the Clinton County Treasurer on March 1, 2023.
