It is responsible for property maintenance violations such as blight, unlicensed/disabled vehicles, lawn/sidewalk maintenance and general nuisances as defined in the Township’s general ordinances and the approved International Property Maintenance Code. What are the benefits of quality Code Enforcement?
- Decreased crime and blight
- Increased property values
- Maintenance is less expensive than rehab

- Increased real-estate sales
- Enhanced community empowerment
- Pride in ownership
- Healthy community
- Economic recovery and development
Our Code Enforcement program is driven by three principals:- Communication: Clear direct description of property conditions and directions for remediation.
- Education: Clearly informing the property owners of the reasons and benefits of code/ordinance compliance with open discussions.
- Fair and reasonable enforcement: Every resident and property owner deserve's our utmost respect as we navigate towards compliance.
Utilization of these three ideals will encourage voluntary compliance which will keep our community vibrant, safe and clean without a strong enforcement presence. Any questions regarding our Code Enforcement Program can be directed to the Building Department at 517-668-0278.
